This section contains links to a rather eclectic selection of special events in Fargo. I will add to the section as I find information about events. Feel free to suggest or contribute information by emailing me.

Northern Pacific Golden Spike Excursion. The train passed throiugh Fargo onits way to the ceremony on September 8, 883.

First Democratic State Convention was held in Fargo in 1889.

Fire Festival. Fargo celebrated the rebuilding of downtown after the tragic fire of 1893 with a wonderful festival in 1900.

The Fair. The fair was held at the fairgrounds (where else?) which were located in north Fargo from 1906 until 1967 when the event moved to West Fargo.

Presidential Visits. Fargo has been host to several US Presidents. The first was in 1878 and the most recent in 2001.

A Balloon Ride. Ya gotta see it to believe it !

Billy Sunday. The evangelist visited Fargo in 1912.

Sangerfest. A 1912 gathering of Norwegian singers.

Prince Gustavus of Sweden. Visited Fargo in 1926.

Charles Lindbergh. In May 1927, Lucky Lindy became the first person to fly non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. Three months later he flew to Fargo.

Olav, Crown Prince of Norway. Visited Fargo in 1939.

Jack Frost Winter Carnival. A Chamber of Commerce event to encourage people visit Fargo in February. hmmmmmm.

Fargo's Diamond Jubilee Celebration. Fargo celebrated its 75th anniversary in 1950 with many events.

All-America City. Many cities would be happy to win once. Fargo has won twice !

Fargo-Moorhead Centennial Celebration. Fargo and Moorhead celebrated their 100th anniversary in 1975.
