Anderson Carriage Shop

Site Map

The Anderson Carriage & Wagon Shop stood on the corner of Second Avenue and Fourth Street North. The 1893 Fargo City Directory lists the establishment at 210 Fourth Street North (Andrew Anderson, proprietor) so the image above is likely facing north with Fourth Street on the left.

At the extreme right is William Mills, Fargo Police Department Commissioner, after whom Mills Avenue [near Meritcare Hospital] is named.

The Metropole Hotel, whose wagon looks newly built, was itself built in 1894.
