The Five Spot was originally a cafe located at 205 Broadway and was established in 1936. It was a well-known cafe where you could buy a sandwich for 5¢ and a beer for 5¢. The photograph below is from 1935. The little cubicle in the right rear was the tiny kitchen where those 5¢ sandwiches were made.
