This real photograph postcard is postmarked 1929 and looks southwest on Roberts Street from about Second Avenue. Moving north to south (right to left), we can see the AOUW Building (with the words "Grand Lodge AOUW over the south street-level window). The Merchants National and Mutual Fire Insurance Building has a sign on the building. The first Post Office and Federal Building is next on the corner of First Avenue with the Gardner Hotel across the street. The buildings south of the Gardner are not identifiable except for the Northern School Supply Building in the center. It has the sign "Fargo Glass and Paint Sign."

On the west side of the street, we can see a sign for the "Tiegland Bros Signs" and a cryptic "Canada" sign.
