Hawthorne School
Hawthorne, the Third Ward school (pictured right), was located on the corner of Fifth Street and Ninth Avenue South. It was the furtherest south of any Fargo school in 1909.
The school had eight rooms provided four teachers for grades 1-7 in 1896. The teaching staff had grown to 8 teachers by 1909 prividing grades 1-8.
There is a Hawthorne elementary school today at 555 South 8th Avenue but it is a diffeent school.
