The Dakota Business College obviously believed that the successful business person was physically fit. After the second (north) building was acquired in 1909, the third floor of the main building was changed into a gymnasium. The DBC basketball program started even earlier, however, as can be seen by the 1906-7 pictures below. The postcard on the left below shows their "Famous Basket Ball Team" from 1907. On the right is a photograph of the women's team from 1906.

On the reverse of the photograph of the women is written "taken in March 1906" and the names Higlin, Stronebo, and Helen Prub.
