Fargo boasted several upscale housing districts at the turn of the century: the South Side area around Eighth Street, Third and Fifth Avenues and the North Side area on North Broadway. The image in the panorama postcard above pictures the intersection of Eighth Street South and Third Avenue, looking, I believe, south. I don't know to whom the house on the corner belonged.
