The photographs on this and succeeding pages were taken by the Schramm Studio which operated in Fargo during the period 1936-1974. I am not sure in which year these photographs were taken but it is believed to be in the 1940s. All of the photographs in this section were provided by Brad Graber. Thank you!
The top photograph looks north up Sixth Street toward Front Street and Broadway. Moody's is on the upper right and the frequently flooded Red Owl grocery store on the lower right. Note the people on the walkway to the auditorium looking at the flood waters. The auditorium was torn down in 1962 so that partially dates the photograph.
The center photograph shows Moody's, the Red Owl and the rear of the buildings on Front Street east of Broadway.
The lower photograph shows a Fargo police patrolling in a motor boat instead of a motor car!
