The postcard to the right (dated 1911) looks east on First Avenue from between Roberts Street and Seventh Street North. Unseen but over our left shoulder would be the First Presbyterian Church. On our right is the Gardner Hotel and (across Roberts Street) the YMCA, a vacant lot, and the Grand Theater.

Fargo, North Dakota
First Avenue North
The postcard to the left (dated 1913) looks west on First Avenue from just past Broadway. On the left of the image we can see the Farmers Supply House, the Nestor (advertising 5 cent cigars and pocket billiards), the Grand, an unknown building in what was the vacant lot above, the YMCA, and (across Roberts Street), the Gardner Hotel.
On the north side of the street (the viewers right) we see a building whose name I cannot make out. The window in the upper right advertises "SWEM ... Photograp...." Next door we see McOrfoors Billiards advertising pool and cigars.
