In 1880, Front Street extended as far west as 14th Street. In the upper right is the NP railroad roundhouse and shops. Just to the left of the roundhouse, at the corner of Front Street and 13th Street, is the Lake Hotel (shown by a "15"), Butler & Peterson, proprietors.

North of the roundhouse, just discernible in the upper right was the NP Stockyards.
