After the original Headquarters Hotel burned down in 1874, a second hotel was built in just 90 days. That second hotel is pictured right. Note that the rebuilt hotel now had an additional (third) floor.
In the view of the hotel to the right, one can clearly see the railroad platform directly in front of the hotel. Passengers had to walk but a few feet from the train to inside the hotel.
In the foreground of the lower right image is where Front Street (Main Avenue) will be. Next from the bottom up, we see where NP Park will be, the NP tracks, and the Headquarters Hotel.
