DeLendrecies's
O.J. [Onesine Joassin] DeLendrecie [born 1845] arrived in Fargo by ox cart in the summer of 1879. By the end of his first day here he had selected the store's site and drawn up building plans. His store, the Chicago Dry Goods House, was soon up and running in a small one-story frame building at 69 Front Street. An 1883 receipt, signed by O.J. DeLendrecie is shown below.
The 1886 letterhead shown below right shows a new address of 617 Front Street. I believe that that store is shown in the early picture of Front Street to the right as "Chicago Clothing."
