This photograph by F.J. Haynes was taken sometime between 1879 and 1889. It depicts the east side of Broadway looking south.

The wooden sidewalk is shown and a number of cast iron stoves sit on the sidewalk outside the leftmost building.

Note the "pitcher on a pole" in front of the same store.

The only legible name (on higher magnification) is the "Broadway Shoe Store" whose sign juts out near the right.

This photograph is a companion piece to the one shown here which looks north over the same stores.

All of these stores were destroyed in the fire of 1893.
