The Merchants Bank, pictured here in 1881, was located on the northeast corner of Broadway and NP Avenue. Above the "Merchants Bank" sign above the door, is a sign for "Briggs & Elder, Law Offices." The store on the far right advertises "Hardware." The other signs are illegible. The building was destroyed in the fire of 1893. The wooden boardwalks in early Fargo are clearly visible here.
